Everything is devoured by darkness
It barks at me
Trees, trunks, leaves, branches
The sounds of the night
An invisible presence
Nature’s orchestra
I proceed amidst conflicting emotions
A glimmer in the distance
I look at my hands
It’s me
The discovery of ourselves passes through the eyes.
Sometimes they are blinded by darkness, other times by light.
A glimmer in the darkness beckons and guides us.
We press forward, endeavoring to reach it.
Yet just as we believe we have come to it,
it invariably fades away leaving us in the dark.
But perhaps the light is within us. It is us.
That’s why we are never able to reach it.
We search for it everywhere outside,
but we already have all the answers, within ourselves.
